On Saturday August 2nd, JUNNY headlined K-PLAY! FEST OC for a special performance at the Anaheim Convention Center! Only recently completing his US BLANC tour earlier this year, fans were excited to catch this exclusive performance.
JUNNY is a singer and songwriter under Mauve Entertainment. An R&B artist who debuted in 2017 with his EP Monochrome, JUNNY writes and composes for NCT U, IU, Baekhyun, amongst many more.JUNNY confidently demonstrates his versatility in songwriting.
While the convention hall buzzed with fans and vendors, excited fans filled the main stage area as they anxiously awaited for JUNNY to perform. DJ Minjeong set up and played some beats before the set began. Suddenly, retro pop styled music filled the room as JUNNY burst onto the stage singing Color Me. JUNNY playfully teased fans as he took command of the stage with fun, flirty dance moves, setting the atmosphere for an unforgettable night.
With a big, charming smile on his face, JUNNY let fans know how excited he was to be back in California. Taking no time to get everyone grooving again, JUNNY performed AURA and FAME. JUNNY showed off a love for performing by dancing and being playful with JUNNIVERSE. AURA is a catchy light R&B track that features PH-1. During the performance fans screamed as JUNNY sang PH-1’s lines “I want your digits and kisses.”
JUNNY then took a little break to give the audience the backstory behind his next song: the story of an ex who thought all his songs were about her. He then encouraged fans to sing Not About You as loudly as they could and JUNNIVERSE delivered. JUNNY prefaced the next song by letting the crowd know that people requested a full version after hearing a snippet on TikTok. Thanks to his dedicated fanbase, he released Invitation 3 years later.
Continuing the good vibes with his single Optimist it was obvious that JUNNY was feeding off the great energy the crowd gave. Optimist is an upbeat song about letting all the stress slide off and staying positive throughout life. Knowing how much his fans appreciate him, JUNNY delivered exceptional fan service by accepting a single rose and letter from fans. He also read a couple of signs, such as one that read “Latinas for JUNNY”. JUNNY took the time to ask fans what songs they wanted him to sing and even teased them by singing By My Side acapella, allowing his soulful voice to fill the venue.
JUNNY slowed down again to sing Nostalgia, a song about embracing the feeling of comfort from long-gone moments in life. JUNNY asked fans if they knew By My Side and asked them to sing as he extended the mic into the crowd. JUNNIVERSE proudly sang the first lines in Korean which caused JUNNY and other fans to laugh. Continuing the softer side of his setlist, Movie and Get Ya! Loving the crowd’s energy, JUNNY launched into For the Weekend, a track off Vivid, Pt.1. He drenched JUNNIVERSE in water, which added to the hype of the already energetic crowd as they sang along even louder. After an exciting show, JUNNY closed with Thank You, as a way to thank his fans for being so great.
As JUNNY was leaving the stage, fans asked him to turn around and revealed a special fan collaboration. A video played different JUNNIVERSE thanking JUNNY for his music and how it changed their lives for the better. When he turned around to thank the fans, he was surprised with JUNNIVERSE holding banners that read “JUNNIVERSE SHINES BRIGHT BECAUSE OF YOU.” The crowd then sang back lyrics from Thank You.

JUNNY stood there with a big smile on his face, unsure how to convey his obvious joy. Thankful and touched, JUNNY told the crowd that this was one of the greatest moments of his life and promised he would be back soon again. With a wonderful gift and a promise to return, both JUNNY and JUNNIVERSE created long-lasting memories.
